What causes Acne Pustules?
Everyone has had a pustule at some point in their life. Allergic reaction to food, environmental allergens or poisonous insect bites, etc. may cause a pustule.
It is formed due to a small plug of skin cells and oil within the pore. As excess of oil and skin cells get accumulated inside the pore and ruptures its wall.
When the wall breaks, it leaves the pore swollen and red which becomes a papule. Then, pus starts filling inside it when white blood cells rush in and create a whitehead.
The papule then becomes a pustule. Head of pustule is not always white; sometimes it is of cream or yellow color.
